Sign up to learn the techniques and skills that will make you a pro!  Under the direction of a local tennis pro, students will develop a powerful serve, backhand, forehand and overhead smash.  This class is geared towards beginners to intermediate skill level players.  Students will improve their game through group lessons.  If you have any interest in tennis, make sure to sign up early.  Limited space for this class.

Creative Writing 101

Whether you love writing or hate it, whether you have fun with it or it drives you crazy, you will want to take this class.  You will learn how to come up with ideas, organize material, refine points, and add pizzazz to your style.   The class will run as a workshop where your teacher will act as your writing coach.  Your teacher, Dr. Shelby Popham, a professor at UCLA, has been teaching writing for over 25 years.

Get ready to experience one of the area’s most popular sports!  This class is designed for beginning players.  Students will be shown basic passing, shooting, and catching techniques.  Local expert coaches will share their knowledge of the game to all that are interested.  Sign up and get ready to have fun.  This is a great way to improve your skills and chances to make Revere’s Varsity LAX team.  We are looking to have a competitive girls team later in the year too!! Please note that students are responsible to provide a helmet and mouthpiece.  These items are REQUIRED in order for students to participate.  P.E.P. does provide loner lacrosse sticks.

Knowledge of coding is fundamental for kids in our 21st century world. This class focuses on teaching kids the basics of coding using the JavaScript programming language. This class is a prerequisite for both Coding for Animation & Video Games and Video Game Coding Lab. Your instructor, Richard Brous, has a Computer Science degree from LMU and a background in Animation (DreamWorks) and Video Games (Electronic Arts - Los Angeles).

Find out why so many people are doing yoga.  Revere’s Yoga Guru, Ms. Esparza, will help guide students to develop their body, mind, and spirit.  The continued practice of yoga has been proven to lead to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with the environment. Participants will have fun gently stretching muscles and joints and bending and balancing in ways never thought humanly possible.  You will feel like a new person after this class!  Participants will get their very own yoga mat.

Do you love frisbee?  Students will learn the fundamentals of throwing, marking, and playing.  Each day you will practice these techniques and learn various strategies during scrimmages.  Get a great workout and have fun at the same time!!!  Participants will also receive their own frisbee.

This 8 week workshop blends improv, sketch comedy, personal storytelling, music and dance.  This will culminate in a final performance written and performed by the students.  Students will experience creative freedom in a fun, supportive and spontaneous atmosphere taught by local theater and musical directors, Lara Ganz and Caitlin Tortorici.  The final performance will be Friday, November 3 at 7pm at Revere.

Paper Art

You will never believe what you will learn from this class.  Taught by Revere’s very talented Ms. Monica, students will learn how to create AMAZING, festive decorations, flowers, and just about anything out of paper.  Students will be able to transform paper into UNBELIEVABLE creations and decorate for any holiday.  Don’t miss out !!!

 
Reminder
In order to ensure the safety of all students... please pick up students in the PE area.  Please drive up the west driveway and park near the gym, in the bus area (by the transportation office).  After child is picked up, please proceed up the west driveway to Sunset Blvd.

Enrollment is on a first come- first serve basis. Register your child early to guarantee a space.

Costs include a $25 non-refundable registration fee.  All requests for refunds must be submitted prior to the start of the second week of the session.
 
Student Eligibility Requirements:
1) Good citizenship and behavior are expected at all times, especially when dealing with coaches, instructors and volunteers. Poor sportsmanship (by parent or student) will result in immediate student suspension/removal from P.E.P. without refund.
2) Students must maintain a min. 2.0 gpa, with no more than 1 U in work habits and cooperation to participate on a competitive team.
3) PEP has the right to remove students at any time due to safety concerns or behavior issues.
4) Completed forms (registration, financial aid) and payment must be received before student can participate. No exceptions!!!
5) Participants must show up to practices and classes regularly and on time.
6) All Financial Aid requests must be submitted prior to the first day of the session.
7) All requests for refunds must be submitted prior to the start of the second week of the session.
8) Outdoor activities will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. There are no make up days for missed classes/activities.
9) A non-refundable $25 enrollment fee is included in all registration fees.
10) Enrollment is on a first come- first serve basis. Register your child early to guarantee a space.
